Survival Lessons: The Greg Klymkiw Story

The 1980s saw the birth of prairie post-modern cinema, a Winnipeg art movement that received major international acclaim. At the centre of the movement, was the subversive punk renegade Greg Klymkiw, who produced, acted, and distributed all of the major works of Guy Maddin and John Paizs. Survival Lessons features candid interviews with Klymkiw and Maddin, who give intimate accounts of their friendship, the rise of Guy Maddin and the Winnipeg Film Group, the unique DIY style of prairie filmmaking that began in the 1980s, as well as Klymkiw’s role on those early prairie post-modern film classics.
